I recognize that discerning truth, in all its complexity, is healing and empowering by nature--as is having a shared vision of collective liberation that strives for the benefit of all Peoples and the Earth community.

I recognize that this land is the ancestral home of Native American peoples and families who cultivated a deep and intimate relationship with this place, and were forced from their homes and their ways.

I recognize the wisdom keepers living with our land today, including the members of the Lummi and Nooksack Nations.

I recognize that racism and oppression are fundamentally conditioned into people through fear and hatred.

I recognize that I am in a position of privilege and power because of this system.

I recognize the fundamental injustice and violence that was and is perpetrated against Native Americans, Black Americans, and many other races, ethnicities, sexualities, and genders. I recognize that this system is ultimately harmful to everyone involved, including white Americans.

I recognize that this system was created and is perpetuated in order to divide and control us.

I recognize the unfathomable potential of the human family and our Life community.

I recognize the interdependency of Life, the sacred nature of rivers and mountains, the inherent rights of all beings, and the necessity of striving for a world in which we learn how to care for the sanctity of all Life.

I recognize that fear and hatred will destroy us.

I recognize that accepting the truth, working together, being willing to be uncomfortable, and choosing love is the path of health for the human family and our planet.
